General Information

Our programs empower Latino families through education, leadership development, advocacy, and parent engagement. By providing culturally responsive support, childcare, meals, and opportunities for community connection, we help parents build the skills and confidence needed to support their children’s success in school and beyond.

  • Our programs run during the school year and do not operate on major holidays, aligning with the district schedule. This helps students connect what they are learning in the coalition with their school curriculum, reinforcing district instruction.
  • For in-person programs held at the coalition, we provide a free meal afterward. This is intended to support parents who may be concerned about missing dinner or meals as a reason not to participate.
  • Childcare is provided during our programs so that parents can fully engage without distraction.
  • At SKCE, we maintain a confidential family record that includes demographic information provided by the family. This record is completed by the guardian at the start of each program. At the end of each program, we provide an evaluation of each child to assess whether they are meeting the appropriate milestones for our classes. These forms are only accessible to program managers and the database specialist, as they are used to collect data about the demographics of each program. Additionally, each family is required to review and sign a consent form for video recordings, photographs, or interviews.
