United for a Stronger Community is SKCE’s community networking series that brings together local businesses, organizations, and community members to build meaningful connections, share valuable resources, and learn from guest speakers. Each event is designed to strengthen our community through collaboration, education, and partnership.
United For A Stronger Community Workshop

Date: October 22nd, 2026
Location : Online via Zoom
Partnership or Organizations: Coming Soon
Goal: Connect with local businesses and community members while providing valuable information and resources on banking and financial services.
Story: Coming Soon — We are excited to partner with Point West Credit Union for this upcoming workshop and look forward to sharing valuable banking resources with our community.

3rd Event
Date: July 9th, 2026
Location : SKCE Offices
Partnership or Organizations: 10 local business and 15 participants.
Goal: Connect with local businesses and community partners, invite guests to support SKCE as Gala sponsors, and provide valuable information about affordable healthcare resources through Salem Free Clinics.
Story: Guests had the opportunity to learn about affordable healthcare options from a special speaker from Salem Free Clinics while connecting with SKCE and other community partners. We are grateful to Point West Credit Union for proudly sponsoring this event and supporting our efforts to bring valuable resources to the community.

2nd Event
Date: April 9th, 2026
Location : SKCE Offices
Partnership or Organizations: 25 local business and 35 participants.
Goal: Build relationships with SKCE and connect with potential donors, sponsors, and community partners. This event also brought together English- and Spanish-speaking attendees, creating an inclusive bilingual space for networking and community connection.
Story: The event exceeded expectations, with more people attending than had registered and several attendees bringing guests. We are especially grateful to Hector De la Cruz and Yanira Perez, professional interpreters who generously provided interpreting services and helped make the event accessible and welcoming for both English- and Spanish-speaking participants.
Unidos Por Una Comunidad Más Fuerte
1st Event
Date: February 26, 2026
Location : SKCE Offices
Partnership or Organizations: 17 local business and 22 participants.
Goal: Build relationships with SKCE and connect with Spanish-speaking business owners and community members across Oregon to identify potential donors, sponsors, and future partners for our programs.
Story: The event was a great opportunity to connect with local businesses and community members in a welcoming environment. We were grateful for the generous coffee donation from Café Chula and pan dulce donation from Plaza Morelia, which helped make the gathering a warm and inviting experience.
