Advocacy Education

Parents as Leaders at Home, at School, and in the Community

We partner and advocate with Latino/a/x parents, schools and the community to ensure equitable education outcomes.

SKCE’s educational advocacy programs engage Spanish-speaking parents and caregivers—as well as SKCE staff—in leadership development, systems change, and parent organizing to advocate for policy and educational equity at the school district level. We focus on providing opportunities to serve as a voice for children in school and district decision-making through civic engagement and advocacy for changes in educational policies and practices. We also partner and collaborate with Salem-Keizer Public Schools, as well as with other community organizations and coalitions, to achieve shared goals.
